This is a series of fantastical futurist works that crosses the divide between real and imagined. A rift opens and we step into a parallel universe where our lands are not lost, where cultural genocide has not yet destroyed our history and our essence, and where we have not helped to destroy the planet. We start anew, building from our shared culture and preserving our unique traditions. To do this we must come together to live in community without all the old divisions and prejudices. In this series, you’ll explore otherworldly landscapes of places our ancestors built or inhabited. These are places imbued with spiritual embodiment or supernatural energy for power, protection, blessings, divination and answers to prayers or wishes. In these works we embrace the past and move into the future, challenging entrenched narratives of conquest and eurocentric histories. We imagine a future of wonder, beauty, and the possibilities we create for ourselves.
